Dutchman Nicky Romero developed an interest for music at a very young age. Studying and practicing his mixing skills were mainly what Nicky’s life consisted of but he was already flirting with the idea of making his own music and rocking the crowds someday. He produced his own interpretation of David Guetta’s “When Love Takes Over” resulting in instantly becoming the so called talk of the town with thousands of hits on YouTube and posts on various influential music blogs. Nicky had made his entrance into the global scene. Releasing “My Friend” really paved the way for Nicky. The track released on Spinnin’ Records shot to a 4th place in the overall Beatport top 100 download chart and straight to the top spot on Dutch portal Dance–Tunes.
This success resulted in the world’s top artists supporting almost everything Nicky releases nowadays. His solo releases, tracks like “Toulouse,” “Se7en” and “Generation 303” have received massive support from a veritable who’s who of dance music aristocracy. Recent studio output includes a track on Rihanna’s album Unapologetic, a huge collaboration with Calvin Harris called Iron, a Madonna remix and releases with Fedde Le Grand, Nervo, and the collaboration with Avicii, I Could Be The One (Universal). In 2012, Romero achieved popularity with the recording “Toulouse,” which became a mainstay on the Beatport Top Ten for a significant period of time. Recognizing his talent, MTV named him an EDM artist to watch in 2012. His popularity has risen in recent years, and he secured a joint residency with David Guetta in summer 2012 at party hot spot Ibiza. October 2012, Nicky Romero received the DJ Mag Highest New Entry award.
